Scrap That Baby

Here is my layout for the latest challenge at Scrap That Baby. This time our theme was nursery/children's room decor.

These photos are of the transformation of our guest room into Kennedy's big girl bedroom. In one of the photos you can see her watching Daddy paint. She was 2.5yrs old! She seemed soooo grown up then!!!! For the most part Jeff painted the walls green and pink. I used a paper bowl cut in half to make scallops and painted those in. Now I need to make a layout of the finished room! She has been in it 2.5 years now!!!!

For most of this layout I used The Girl's Paperie goodies! YUM! I won the entire line from The Scrap Review! And I finally opened up my newest Martha Stewart border punch!

I have started creating with the new Epiphany Crafts tools......you are gonna love what they make! Hope to post again soon!!!!

More Sewing!!!!

I have been bad about posting to this blog!!! So I figured I could show you some sewing I have done over the last month or two!!! This pink and yellow taggie blankie is one I made for Little Miss Marin!!!! I just love the decorative stitching options on my new sewing machine!!!

Way back in May, I tried my hand at making a bag! It was my first time and I can use some practice!! But I enjoy trying new things anyway! This bag I made for Kenendy's preschool teacher. For the last day of school we filled it with stuff from Bath & Body Works - so it was a bit heavy!!!
And this was my first order!!!!! I hope little baby Eden enjoys it!!!! I will be opening an Etsy shop...working on that now. And I am sewing like crazy trying to build up a little inventory! I will share it all with you when it is up and running!!!!

I do have one more MLS project to share! I totally forgot to post this layout from last month! MLS partnered with the fabulous sketch site Pencil Lines. This was my take on one of the sketches. You can see the post on their blog HERE.

Last month we also partnered with Tattered Angels! You can see one of their Bingo cards here. I used it as a photo mat and sprayed it with mist!!!

This photo will help you see the layering and depth of the flowers!! :)

I didn't have chipboard alphas in the pink color I wanted. So I just sprayed what I had with the pink Tattered Angels mist! I think it is such a cool effect!!! You can see it with the word "bun" in my title.

Just one more shot of the layered flowers (bottom one sprayed with the blue mist from Tattered Angels) along with the Bingo card I used as the photo mat.

And here is the final layout! I rarely scrap myself but I decided this baby needed it's first layout! ;)

Have a fabulous Father's Day!!
Be Blessed!!!

My Little Shoebox Farewell Blog Hop

The My Little Shoebox team is doing a blog hop today to say good bye to outgoing team members (I am one of them!) and celebrate the new team (YAY!!).

And I am the first stop on the Hop!!!!

The "old" team has created all kinds of fun projects to share today!
And it would not be a blog hop without prizes of course!!
So you need to check out all of our blogs & leave a comments on those that are giving away prizes! Mine included! I will be giving away a bunch of amazing MLS overlays and mini alphas to a random winner that posts a comment on my blog!!!
Fabulous!!
So make sure you follow along the blog hop and check out all the blogs!

So here are my last "official" My Little Shoebox projects...
{*sniff*}{*sniff*}

This month I worked with the Away We Go line. And first up is a tri-fold card!!!

*********************************************************** My second project is a mini album! I picked up these chipboard cars quite some time ago at Michael's for dirt cheap! And I thought they seemed perfect for this mini! I created it for my dear friend who is traveling to California as we speak! She isn't a scrapbooker but I wanted her to have a way to save her family's vacation memories. So I made a journal box for each day of the trip where they can write a list of what they did that day. The next page has journaling spot for each of the family members to record their favorites of that day! I hope they are enjoying it!!!

So comment away!!
The next stop on the hop is Robyn's Blog!!!!!!
And do not forget to check out the My Little Shoebox blog and leave a comment there too!
Have fun!
Be Blessed!

Mini Tutorial

I completely forgot! I had a mini tutorial up on the Scrap That Baby blog - and I didn't post it here!!! Oops!!! You can see the post on our blog HERE or keep reading!!!

Today I want to show you a different way to use fabric on your creations!

You will need: fabric scraps, heat n bond iron on adhesive, iron, sewing machine, disappearing fabric pen, various threads and your scrapbook creation
1)
1. Grab two scraps of fabric. Follow the instructions on the adhesive package to adhere the two scraps together.

2) 2. Next, use your pen to draw any fun shapes or letters you want to use.

3) 3. Now use your sewing machine to stitch around your drawings. And then cut around the edge of your stitching.
4)
4. Now you have a super fun embellishment! The best part is that it is cute on both sides AND it is isn’t flimsy!!

5) Add it to your favorite scrapbook creation!

Thanks for taking a peek! Have a blessed day!

I Can Sew!!!!!

Before you read this entire post, keep in mind that I still consider myself a newbie when it comes to sewing! I have sooooo much more to learn! But I am loving this new hobby of mine! Do you think Jeff would build me a sewing room to go along with my scrapbook room?!?! I know better than to ask!!

It seems that lately I have been surrounded by pregnant family members and friends!!! So I have been trying my hand at sewing baby gifts!!! They are way too fun and addicting! This weekend was a baby shower for my dear friend Cris. She is pregnant with her third child. Her first two are boys and this one is a girl!!!!! As you can imagine, this shower was filled with pink! Baby Larkin in going to be one spoiled little girl (as it should be!!)

This is what I created for Little Miss Larkin!!

Now, it was my FIRST time making a bib and a burp cloth - just keep that in mind and don't inspect too closely! I have made 2 more bibs since and they turned out MUCH better!!!!

My new favorite this to make is sensory blankets! I have made them in all different sizes with a variety of fabric types. My obsession for ribbon has come in handy with these!!!!

This is a small burp cloth!

And this one could be a lap blanket or a larger burp rag or a changing blanket! Whatever it is they need at the moment!!!
I cannot tell you how much fun I am having while I learn how to sew! Stay tuned for more sewing goodness in the next few weeks!!!

My Little Shoebox + Punky Sprouts + Tattered Angels Part 2

Here is Part 2 of my mini album for My Little Shoebox. Today I want to show you what I did with the Tattered Angels products!!!

This fun Punky Sprouts album had some canvas pages. These were perfect for spraying with the Tattered Angels mists! I also used their fun masks...can you see them to the left of the left photo and under the right photo?
This was a pancake Kennedy poured. She thought it looked like a bird from her bird book so we had to compare them!!!!

This is another page where I was able to use the Tattered Angels sprays and masks! I used two different colors and loved the effect!!
Another strip showing the Tattered Angels fun!
Kennedy's drawings!!!

The blue background on this page is just white cardstock sprayed with Tattered Angels mist!!!

Thanks for taking a peek at my album!!!! Have a blessed day!

My Little Shoebox + Punky Sprouts + Sakura Part 1

My Little Shoebox has been pairing with some amazing companies lately! I wanted to show you two of them today. This mini album is created by Punky Sprouts. It is so fun! It is chipboard, canvas and acrylic all mixed up! Below is a curved acrylic page!

For this month I used the Just Add Butter line from My Little Shoebox! So fun and extra cute!

We also paired up with Sakura. I was truly blown away by these pens! They are the Glaze line. I expected the flow to be lacking and the color to bleed. Boy, was I wrong!!!!!! The flow with these pens are wonderful!!!! If you hold the tip in one spot for more than a second or two it will start to pool up. But with regular writing this rarely happens. The colors were much brighter than I had expected! The coolest part is that they have a wet look when they are completely dry! And they create a raised image when finished. I was able to write on patterned paper, canvas and the amazing MLS overlays! Impressive!!!!

Here is what Kennedy drew using the Sakura pens!
In this photos you can see the pink on the MLS overlay!

These photos just really don't do these pens justice!!!

I will have the rest of the photos of this mini album soon along with some Tattered Angels goodies!!!
