The Sampler Chipboard Challenge

Each month at The Sampler we have a challenge! This month was to use chipboard in a fun way!

There were lots of yummy pieces of chipboard in this kit so it wasn't hard!!!!! I chose to use the strawberries!

For the red portion of the chipboard strawberry, I used a pinkish/red Shimmerz Mist! While it was still wet I quickly added some super fine pinkish/red glitter! For the green portion I painted on some green paint. While wet I added super fine green glitter! It was fun but messy!!! Once it was dry I added the gems as seeds.

I did the same thing for the smaller strawberry. I also used the same technique on the letter stickers. The word "sweet" was originally a cream color. I just glittered them up to match the layout!!!

I really struggled to get good photos of this layout. The colors still aren't exactly correct but as close as I can get!!! The journaling goes along the top and bottom of the patterned paper piece. Click on the layout to enlarge it and read the journaling!

This layout challenge came at the perfect time! My sweet little Kennedy turned 5 on Monday! It is extremely hard to believe! It was great fun to relive the day she was born while creating this layout!

Triple the Sketch Blog Hop!!!!!!

Welcome to the Triple the Sketch BLOG HOP!!!!!!!!!!!

It is with sadness that I "hop" today. Patter, the owner of Triple the Sketch, has made the decision to close the blog. I have come to know the other girls on the team so well....such wonderful friendships have been made. I am going to miss our constant chatter and the amazing circle of prayer warriors. But at the same time I am so excited for Patter. She is following God's vision for her and I just she will bless many and also be blessed herself! Thank you my TTS girlies!!! It has been great!! I decided not to slant my squares and moved the large embellishment (flower) to the right hand side and made it my sentiment instead!

Super Star!

I have another layout to share using the new My Little Shoebox "Robots Unplugged" line! I seem to have developed a deep affection for round layouts! So the die cut papers are always the first papers I grab! On this layout I used TWO of them!!! I also covered the chipboard alphas with some yummy Shimmerz paint! The photo mats, the acetate star and the chipboard stars were also covered in Shimmerz - all to give it a glitzy star look!!!

Triple the Sketch + Shimmerz!!!!

For this week at Triple the Sketch, we partnered with Shimmerz!!! I have to admit, this was my first time using Shimmerz products!!!! I absolutely love them and now have many different colors as well as sprays and paints! They are too fun!

This week's sketch originally showed a large circle, but I changed it to a large cupcake!! The purple and teal are Shimmerz! The large cupcake stamp is from Stampin' Up! The bling is Doodlebug, pink paper and trim is from Crate Paper and the rub on is from Scenic Route!
